Tax and Accounting Law
Grant Henderson, LLB, MTaxS (Hons)
Grant has built up an extensive knowledge of tax over many years as a CCH tax analyst, commencing with the major tax reform period in the mid-1980s. His specialist knowledge includes business taxation, companies, partnerships and trusts. Grant also draws on his experience as a barrister and solicitor in general practice, working with small and medium-sized businesses, before joining CCH. Grant is the editor of New Zealand Income Tax Law and Practice and the New Zealand Tax Planning Report.
Iona Jones, LLB (Hons)
In a tax career spanning more than 25 years, Iona has worked for several national law firms and an international accounting firm. She also spent several years working for Inland Revenue as part of the Office of the Chief Tax Counsel before joining CCH. Iona is the editor of the New Zealand Master Tax Guide.
Rizwana Saheed, BCom (Hons), MTaxS
Rizwana works as a CCH tax analyst and has over ten years’ experience working in the tax field. Before joining CCH, she spent three years working for KPMG as a tax consultant. Prior to that, she spent two years with Gosling Chapman (a medium-sized chartered accountancy practice) in a mixed business advisory services/tax role. Rizwana has worked on CCH’s Question and Answer Service and has contributed to a number of publications, including the New Zealand Master Tax Guide, A Practical Guide to Taxing Property Transactions (edition 5), and Payroll: A Practical Guide to New Zealand Payroll Administration (2014 edition).
Lee Treadaway, LLB, BA
Before joining CCH, Lee was a solicitor in the litigation division of a national law firm. She has been the editor of the New Zealand Goods and Services Tax Guide and has contributed to many other CCH tax publications. Lee leads the CCH tax team.
Trust Law
Vicki Ammundsen, BSc, BCom, LLB, TEP
A practising barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, Vicki has significant experience in tax and trust law. Before setting up Vicki Ammundsen Trust Law, Vicki was a partner at Ayres Legal, having previously worked at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, PwC and Denham Martin & Associates. She has written a number of books published by CCH, including Australian GST for New Zealand Businesses, Taxation of Trusts, The Trustee's Handbook and Trustee Liability: What Every Trustee Needs to Know.
Company and Financial Markets Law
Nicky Won, LLB, BCA
Nicky has over 17 years’ corporate and securities law experience. Before joining CCH, she was a senior solicitor at the Financial Markets Authority. She has also practised as a solicitor at Chapman Tripp and Bell Gully. Nicky spent 17 years in Hong Kong, where she enjoyed a variety of legal roles. This included working as a senior solicitor at law firms Jones Day and Victor Chu and Co, and as general counsel for an international stockbroking and investment company. Nicky has also taught and prepared course material for corporate law papers. She is the editor of New Zealand Company Law and Practice, New Zealand Company Law Guide and New Zealand Financial Markets Law and Practice.
Business Law
Hugh Ammundsen, BA, LLB
Hugh brings to CCH over 30 years of commercial experience. His career includes 8 years as a financial and investment analyst and over 20 years in corporate finance and consulting roles. His work has encompassed a wide range of advice from the technical through to broader business strategy, valuations and regulatory impacts for a wide range of industries, as well as M&A and capital-raising transactions. He has also combined his work with clients in the wine industry with his own family wine venture. Hugh is the editor of the New Zealand Business Law Guide.
Employment Law
Denise Henderson, LLB, MA (Hons)
Denise started with CCH in 1987 as a tax analyst, before becoming chief editor (business law), responsible for a team of CCH analysts and outside authors in the areas of employment, company, business and property law. After a break in which she completed her MA, she is back with CCH as the editor of New Zealand Employment Law Library.
Property Law and Conveyancing
Lester Blomfield, BSc, LLB
Lester is a property law analyst with CCH and editor of New Zealand Conveyancing Law and Practice. He has been a legal practitioner in law firms (including his own practice) for 26 years, specialising in all aspects of domestic, rural and commercial property conveyancing and development. He took over as editor of New Zealand Conveyancing Law and Practice in 2009.
